The portion of the settlement with California Animal Rehabilitation, Inc. ("CARE") was entered into orally before the judge with a court reporter present. [A transcript of that settlement will be posted when it is obtained from the court reporter. Below are the two settlement checks on behalf of CARE.]
The first check is from CARE's liability carrier. The second check was paid by CARE directly. It is believed that CARE's insurer refused to cover the entire claim for CARE because the claims included fraud and insurance companies never insure fraud.
